Replacement of blocks has to be made at the same time on the right and left brake mechanisms in the following order (fig. 8.8):

- to remove a wheel;

- to drown the bracket piston a bracket case pulling on itself. For simplification of replacement of brake fluid from the cylinder of the case opening of the valve of pumping is allowed, previously it is necessary to put on it a rubber hose. To close the pumping valve as soon as the piston completely is drowned in the case cylinder;

- keeping from rotation one of the directing fingers a wrench, to turn out a bolt of fastening of a finger;

- to turn the case of a brake bracket around the second directing finger, at the same time access to blocks opens;

- to take brake shoes;

- to clear the directing grooves and ledges of the basis on which blocks lean of dirt;

- to check attentively:

• condition of a protective cover of the piston. If gaps or cracks are found on it, it needs to be replaced on new (see. "Repair of the brake mechanism of a forward wheel");

• a condition of covers of the directing fingers. At detection of destructions the cover needs to be replaced (see. "Repair of the brake mechanism of a forward wheel");

• movement of fingers in the basis. Movement has to be a lung, without jamming. At detection of the complicated movement of fingers to make their dismantling and if necessary to replace (see. "Repair of the brake mechanism of a forward wheel").

- to establish new blocks in the basis;

- to turn the case of a brake bracket in a starting position, having convinced of correctness of an arrangement of springs of blocks and installations of covers of fingers;

- to wrap a bolt of fastening of a finger and to tighten its moment 32 — 39 N · m (3,2 — 3,9 kgfs · l);

- to press several times a brake pedal until on it resistance begins to be felt.

The first 80 — 100 km of a run after installation of new slips until they were earned extra, it is necessary to be careful when braking as the brake way of the car can be a little increased. During this period it is necessary to avoid long braking not to overheat brake slips in process extra earnings.
