On cars two options of drawing VIN are possible.

The 1st option — on the external panel of a front under a cowl on the right side in the direction of the car (fig. 1.1, a look on an arrow "A");

The 2nd option — on a gutter over an aperture of the right movable door of a body (fig. 1.2).

The 2nd option — in two places: on a gutter over an aperture of the right movable door of a body (fig. 1.2) and on a back lath of a roof on the right side in the direction of the car (fig. 1.3).

Example of drawing VIN car:

HTN — the international identification code of the manufacturer;

2705 — a car index;

4 — a code of model year (4 — 2004 g, 5 — 2005 g);

0140794 — serial number of the car.

    Model year — the period equal on average to calendar year during which cars with identical constructive signs are issued.

    Identification number of a body of cars is put under a cowl on the external panel of a front on the left side in the direction of the car (fig. 1.1, a look on an arrow "B")

Example of drawing number of a body:

* 27050040100125 *, where:

270500 — a body index;

4 — a code of model year;

0100125 — serial number of a body.

Identification number of ZMZ engines is beaten out on the block of cylinders on the left side (fig. 1.4).

    Identification number of the block of cylinders is beaten out over the identification room of the engine (ZMZ-4061, ZMZ-4063) or on the inclined platform formed by inflow under a flange of fastening of an oil filter (ZMZ-4025, ZMZ-4026).

Identification number of UMZ-4215 engines is beaten out on the block of cylinders on the left side.

Example of drawing identification number of the engine:

* 4215CP*40901271 *, where:

4215CP — an engine index;

4 — a code of year of release;

0901271 — serial number of the engine.

The option of a complete set of the engine is designated by an alphanumeric code (two last signs of an index of the engine).

Passport data of the car are also specified on the name plate (fig. 1.5) located on a back rack of the right sidewall of a cabin.
